Community Corner: Sivitz Hospice & Palliative Care

At Sivitz Hospice, we provide comfort, support, and dignity to our patients throughout their end of life journey. During this time, our providers often form close, meaningful connections not only with our patients but also with their loved ones. Hospice care is truly about supporting the whole family during what can be an incredibly difficult time.

Our commitment to families does not end when their loved one passes away. Through our 13-month bereavement program, we offer support and guidance to families to help navigate the challenging days and months following the loss of a loved one. Although grief is a personal expression of loss, it is also a shared human experience. Talking about these feelings can be an important first step toward healing. By sharing our experiences, we can find comfort, community, and the strength to face the challenges that lie ahead.

We encourage all families of our Sivitz Hospice patients to participate in our bereavement services, which include:

    • Personal telephone support
    • Individual and family counseling
    • Bereavement support groups (held at the JCC)
    • Annual memorial services
    • Helpful mailings about grief and loss
    • Referrals to community resources
    • A legacy program, offering keepsakes to honor your loved one’s memory

It is our privilege to support our patients and their families through this journey—one that requires strength, patience, and care.

Even after our loved ones pass, their love remains deeply a part of us. We will always cherish the gifts they’ve given us that provide us with the courage and strength to move forward and find new meaning in our lives.
If you or someone you know could benefit from our support, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here for you.
