People Behind the Scenes
Meet the folks who dedicate their time and service to our seniors with grace and good spirits. Join us to applaud and thank them!
Meet Mary Smith! Mary is the receptionist at the Jewish Association on Aging. She is from West Mifflin, Pennsylvania and is the the mother of one son and the grandmother of two. Here, at the JAA Mary knows just about everyone, and who to call when to get something done. In her spare time, Mary likes to eat out and go shopping at the Century III Mall.
We asked Mary some questions about her time here at the Jewish Association on Aging.
When did you start at the JAA? I started in 1985, so that makes 26 years!
What does your job at the JAA entail? As the receptionist at the JAA, I greet people, answer the telephones, keep the office organized and run the JAA’s “post office”.
What is your most memorable moment during your time at the JAA? The most memorable memory over the years has been meeting and greeting so many people, especially when they remember you. One time it was a woman that worked with me when I first started!
Who have been your lifetime role models and why? My mom and dad, they are the ones that got me where I am today.
“She keeps everyone on their toes, alerts security and maintenance. She knows everything!” -Captain Harry
